This is an exciting opportunity to join West London Children Healthcare (WLCH) as our Lead Nurse for Education, providing strategic and operational leadership for nursing education across our Children's services. Working across a diverse range of specialist, acute and local paediatric services, you will have a unique opportunity to shape how we develop, support and prepare our nursing workforce for the future. As our senior nursing education expert, you will shape and deliver the WLCH Nursing Education Strategy, lead our Paediatric Clinical Education Team and work with clinical leaders, Higher Education Institutions and education partners to develop our current and future nursing workforce. We are looking for a credible, visible and forward-thinking nursing leader who can inspire others and ensure education and professional development translate into safe, high-quality care for children, young people and their families across WLCH. Main duties of the job The Lead Nurse for Education will provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing education across West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH), ensuring the nursing workforce has the skills, knowledge and competencies to deliver safe, effective and high-quality care. You will: Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of the WLCH Nursing Education Strategy and education programme, aligned to workforce, service, quality and national priorities. Provide leadership and line management to the Paediatric Clinical Education Team, ensuring effective and equitable education provision across WLCH. Lead workforce development, including induction, preceptorship, continuing professional development, career pathways and talent development. Provide strategic oversight of pre and post-registration education, working with Higher Education Institutions to support high-quality placements and positive learning environments. Work collaboratively with clinical leaders to identify education and practice-development needs and strengthen clinical competence. Translate learning from incidents, complaints, audit and quality improvement into education and improvements in clinical practice. Champion innovative approaches to education, including simulation, clinical skills, digital and workplace-based learning. About us Our Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts.
