Barts Health NHS Trust Trust Doctor (Eqv to FY2) in Gastroenterology The closing date is 13 October 2026 Apply for this job Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our dynamic team providing inpatientcare across our medical specialties at Royal London Hospital.This is a fixed term contract ending August 2027.Successful applicants will be allocated to the Gastroenterology and Hepatology department.Within this specialty their role will be to deliver inpatient medical care on a ward basedsystem and covering medical wards on the 13th Floor out of hours as per the oncall rota of 1in 3 weekends, there will be no night shifts or acute medical admissions shifts associatedwith these roles. The medical teams are committed to supporting medical education, and within the medicaldepartments there are lunchtime teaching sessions as well as M&M meetings once amonth. Consultants within the departments are willing to supervise and support successfulcandidates with audits and QIPs. Main duties of the job 5. Main duties, responsibilities and results areasThe requirements of the post include:o Take a history and examine a patiento Identify and appropriately manage clinical problemso Prescribe safelyo Keep an accurate and relevant medical recordo Manage time and clinical priorities effectivelyo Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagueso Use evidence, guidelines and audit to benefit patient careo Act in a professional manner at all timeso Manage ethical and legal issues which occur during the management of patients withgeneral medical problemso Educate patients effectivelyo Become life-long learners and teachers.
