Practice Plus Group - Health in Justice General Practitioner - Out of Hours The closing date is 05 November 2026 Apply for this job Job summary UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs a category B remand prison in West London, based close to East Acton and White City stations. The site supports around 1280 patients including a 17 bed inpatient unit.HMP Wormwood Scrubs delivers care to males aged 21+, with a range of needs including substance misuse and long term conditions.This position will be focused on receptions, supporting the new intake of patients. Within this role, you will be working closely with our senior nurses to deliver first-night prescribing, discharge prescribing, urgent follow-ups for duty doctor, and substance misuse prescribing. Hours Mon:18:00 - 22:00 Fri:14:00 - 22:00 Sat:12:00 - 18:00 We offer individual 4-hour sessions or a combination of sessions to suit your needs. Salary You'll receive an annual salary up to £130,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience. How will we support you? Main duties of the job Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment. Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
