are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Prescription Clerk to join our
General Practice team. The Prescription Clerk will be responsible for managing
and processing prescription requests, ensuring compliance with relevant
regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This role works closely with the
Clinical Pharmacist Team to ensure medication safety, proper medication
management, and that prescriptions are issued in accordance with clinical
guidelines. Main duties of the job Prescription Processing: Accurately process and issue prescription requests from patients, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and regulations. Handle repeat prescription requests, reviewing patient history and ensuring timely renewals. Collaboration with Clinical Pharmacist Team: Work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist Team to ensure prescriptions align with medication safety protocols and best practices. Assist with medication reviews, audits, and addressing medication-related queries. Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding prescription status, changes, or clarifications. Provide guidance on medication collection procedures and prescription needs. Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prescriptions, ensuring they comply with NHS and regulatory standards. Monitor stock levels and assist in medication ordering, ensuring continuity of supplies. Administrative Support: Support the practice by handling prescription-related queries with pharmacies and other healthcare professionals. Assist in updating patient medical records to reflect prescription changes or renewals. Confidentiality & Data Protection: Ensure all patient information is handled securely, following confidentiality protocols and data protection laws.
