St Helier's Neonatal Services comprise of 2 Intensive Care Unit cots, 4 High Dependency Unit cots, 8 Special Care cots, and 8 Transitional Care cots. In addition, Epsom Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) provides 6 Special Care cots. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the principles of Family Integrated Care and actively support the unit's progression towards Baby Friendly Initiative and BLISS accreditation . Key Responsibilities: Provide effective leadership and professional development for nursing and support staff within neonatal services. Ensure the delivery of safe, standardised, and evidence-based care consistently across all areas. Foster a culture of collaboration, compassion, and excellence in neonatal care. Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities Provide expert clinical care , all babies receive safe, evidence based standardised care. Oversee the full cycle of neonatal care , including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Mentor and support junior nursing staff through structured education, training, and performance reviews, fostering a culture of professional development and continuous improvement. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams , including medical staff, allied health professionals, and families, to coordinate holistic and patient-centered care. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and policies , ensuring alignment with local and national standards and best practices. Provide compassionate emotional support and clear education to families , helping them understand their infant's condition, treatment plan, and ongoing care needs. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation , ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance requirements. Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations , demonstrating advanced expertise in neonatal resuscitation and critical care management.
