Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist Service Line: Specialist PICU (Female) Professionally Accountable to: Medical Director Managerially Responsible to: Hospital Manager We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist who will work at Cygnet Hospital Beckton and provide senior medical cover on Svanna Ward , our 12 bed Psychiatric Intensive Support Service for women. The ward provides assessment and treatment for women experiencing a mental health crisis who require an emergency admission. The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward in patients as required and will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines. The service pathway provides a robust programme of care for women with challenging high risk behaviour who experience difficulties with engagement with therapeutic programmes. We aim to meet the needs of these women, who may have had previous inappropriate placements, in a less restrictive setting. In this role, your expertise will be the driving force for life-changing treatment fully supported by a Specialty Doctor and first-class multidisciplinary team including qualified nurses, psychologist and occupational therapist.
