Jewish Care Community Dementia Assistant (Redbridge & Southend) - 24 Hours The closing date is 30 November 2026 Apply for this job Job summary The Community Dementia Assistant will play an important role within Jewish Cares Community Dementia Team, supporting people living with dementia and their families across Redbridge and Southend. Working 24 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, the postholder will help coordinate and deliver welcoming, inclusive community dementia programmes and activities, building trusted relationships with individuals and families and providing information, practical support and signposting where appropriate. The role involves developing relationships with synagogues, volunteers, community organisations and health and social care professionals, supporting volunteers, contributing to dementia awareness and training, monitoring attendance and feedback, and helping identify local needs and opportunities to develop services. Although based within a defined geographical area, you will work collaboratively across the wider Community Dementia Team and contribute to team-wide initiatives and events. Regular travel between Redbridge, Southend and other local hubs will be required. Main duties of the job We are looking for a warm, empathetic and community-focused Community Dementia Assistant to join our team supporting people living with dementia and their families across Redbridge and Southend. Working 24 hours per week, you will help deliver meaningful activities and support that enable people to remain connected, active and included within their communities. You will build trusting relationships, work alongside volunteers and develop strong links with synagogues, community organisations and health and social care professionals. You will also help promote dementia awareness, challenge stigma and identify opportunities to improve local services. You do not need a formal dementia qualification; we are looking for someone with community experience, an understanding of the needs of people living with dementia and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference.
