King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Foundation Year 2 Trust Doctor The closing date is 20 October 2026 Apply for this job Job summary We are looking to recruit a Foundation Year 2 junior doctor to the Medicine department within the Princess Royal Hospital. NHS experience is essential and looking for candidates that have completed their MRCP part 1. It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience. This post would be suitable for any trainee who has, or are on course to, successfully complete a 1-year Foundation School programme or has achieved equivalent competencies who will join at Foundation Year 2 level (MT02). Ideally trainees will have an up to date certification for Adult Life Support training, or be able to fulfil the necessary qualification upon appointment. Although this appointment is not accredited for training through HEE, the appointee will be expected to participate fully in the educational and training programmes within the department and the hospital. The appointee will have a named clinical/ education supervisor. Annual leave and study leave is commensurate with other post foundation doctors. The experience and opportunities offered would be excellent experience for applicants planning a career in any medical specialty. Previous post holders have been successful in gaining entry to training programmes upon completion as well as completing their Royal College membership exams. Main duties of the job The remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients within the service. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group There is a strong training culture incorporating lecture-room teaching and clinical supervision, opportunities to attend relevant clinics and courses, and full immersion simulation sessions.
