Central London Community Health Trust Bank Speech and Language Therapist The closing date is 15 October 2026 Apply for this job Job summary Speech and Language Therapist - Band 6 Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, or 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday Contract: Temporary Band: Band 6 Service: Adult Speech and Language Therapy We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our adult Speech and Language Therapy team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will provide assessment and intervention for adults with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties, working collaboratively with patients, carers, care staff and the wider multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job Undertake assessment, diagnosis, treatment and review of adults with communication and swallowing disorders, using evidence-based practice and relevant professional guidelines. Assess and manage dysphagia, including specialist oral motor and swallowing assessments. Provide clear, clinically appropriate recommendations to support safe eating, drinking and medication administration. Use appropriate assessment and treatment approaches, including relevant standardised assessments. Provide education, advice, support and training to patients, carers, care staff and other healthcare professionals. Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and multi-agency team. Demonstrate an understanding of Eating and Drinking with Acknowledged Risks (EDAR) and its application within clinical practice. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organisational requirements. Manage and prioritise a clinical caseload effectively, ensuring appropriate follow-up and review. Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and safe, effective service delivery.
