We are looking for an Activity Coordinator to join our Occupational Therapy team within our Inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This rewarding role involves planning and delivering engaging activities that support recovery, wellbeing, confidence, independence, and social connection. Activities may include arts and crafts, cooking, sports, wellbeing groups, community outings, and life skills sessions. Working alongside Occupational Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help create a positive therapeutic environment where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered to develop new skills, explore interests, and achieve personal goals. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver therapeutic, recreational, and skill-building activities. Promote engagement in meaningful occupations that support recovery. Support young people to develop confidence, resilience, independence, and social skills. Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and the wider MDT. Contribute to a safe, positive, and recovery-focused ward environment. If you believe in the power of meaningful activity to support recovery and wellbeing, we would love to hear from you. Main duties of the job To participate in the delivery of clinical interventions using highly skilled practical/creative. Work and specialised support to engage patients in meaningful activities which promote social inclusion. To contribute to the assessment of daily living skills and enable individuals to establish meaningful daily routines. To work in partnership with ward staff in delivering group and individual interventions. To carry out specific interventions to address practical and social issues that may delay discharge. To incorporate up to date techniques and ideas of positive practice into the programme of activities. To monitor patient's progress taking account of their social and physical environment and adjust interventions accordingly. To undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service, seeking assistance and guidance from senior staff when necessary. To assess risk and manage it effectively in all settings, in particular highlighting concerns to colleagues/managers. To identify and meet the needs of clients through a flexible service which is sensitive to racial, social and cultural needs and expectations. To develop knowledge of local resources and services offered in the community, to assist in facilitating a smooth discharge from hospital for the client. To undertake additional duties whenever necessary to assist in a smooth care pathway for the service user.
