Chelsfield Surgery Medical Receptionist The closing date is 31 October 2026 Apply for this job Job summary Chelsfield Surgery is looking for two friendly, organised and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive GP practice team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, managing appointments, handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries, processing administrative tasks and supporting the wider multidisciplinary team. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, strong IT abilities and a professional, caring approach. Previous receptionist or administrative experience is essential, and experience within a GP practice or healthcare setting would be advantageous. Training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a permanent part-time position of 16-17 hours per week, with flexibility required to cover annual leave and occasional additional shifts when needed. Main duties of the job Main duties of the job Welcoming and assisting patients at reception Managing appointments and patient enquiries Answering and directing telephone calls Processing registrations and maintaining patient records Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence Signposting patients to appropriate services Supporting clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks Maintaining confidentiality and data security at all times About us Chelsfield Surgery is situated in Orpington, Bromley. The surgery has a variety of clinical skill mix as we as being a teaching practice. We are a part of Orpington PCN, and has plenty of support through ARRS roles. Our team consist of 2 GP Partners , 1 Salaried GPs, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Sexual Health Nurse, 1 HCA, a Paramedic, Pharmacy Technician, Social Prescriber, Mental health Practitioner, Care Coordinators, physiotherapist, podiatrist and a fantastic administrative support team. You will be responsible for managing appointments, handling patient enquiries, processing registrations, maintaining patient records and supporting the wider clinical and administrative teams.
