The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Junior Sister/Charge Nurse - Emergency Department - Fixed term The closing date is 21 October 2026 Apply for this job Job summary The post holder will participate in all Departmental activities as an effective team member, supporting the ED Matron and Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses in the effective running of the Emergency Department. The aim of this role is to ensure patients are seen, treated, discharged or transferred within the four hourly emergency access standards. The post holder will assess care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. This role will also teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff, and act as a role model to junior staff. The post holder will take responsibility and accountability for a group of patients as well as take charge of the department when necessary. About us The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
