Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Associate Director of Nursing - Urgent & Emergency Care The closing date is 11 October 2026 Apply for this job Job summary With the growth and development of our Urgent and Emergency Care offering, this is an exciting time to join our team as Associate Directorof Nursing - Urgent and Emergency Care. This senior nursing leadership role will be responsible for shaping the strategic, professional and operational leadership of Urgent and Emergency Care services (ED, SDEC & UTC) and for contributing to the wider professional nursing leadership, quality governance and workforce agenda across the Medicine Division and Trust. Collaborative working with the Clinical Director, General Manager, Divisional Chief Nurse, operationalteams and system partners, you'll be a key to the development of integrated urgent and emergency care pathways, ensuring patients receivetimely assessment, treatment and onward care within clinically appropriate timescales. Success will require role modelling of visible,compassionate and effective leadership; supporting and coaching colleagues to do the same. Expert knowledge and extensive prior experience of emergency care quality indicators, operational performance metrics, workforce productivity, patient safetymeasures and national urgent and emergency care standards, will be key to leading and being accountable for continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to safe and sustainable delivery of the NHS Constitutional Standards. About us Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is one of the region's busiest providers of healthcare. It was formed on 1 April 1998 following a merger between East Surrey Healthcare NHS and Crawley Horsham NHS Trusts. We are often referred to as 'SASH'.
