Ealing Council is committed to ensuring that every resident has access to safe, secure, and suitable accommodation, particularly during times of housing crisis and uncertainty. Our Hostels Service is a key part of the Council’s response to homelessness, providing high-quality temporary accommodation and housing management services to individuals and families who require support while longer-term housing solutions are secured. We recognise that the quality of temporary accommodation can have a significant impact on a resident’s wellbeing, stability, and ability to move forward with confidence.
The service is responsible for the effective management of a diverse portfolio of hostel and temporary accommodation, ensuring properties are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and meet the needs of residents. We are committed to providing a person-centred service that promotes dignity, independence, and inclusion, whilst maintaining high standards of health and safety, safeguarding, and accommodation management. Through proactive engagement and collaborative working with residents, internal departments, support agencies, and external partners, we strive to create environments where residents feel supported and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
As part of our ambition to deliver excellent housing services, we continuously seek to improve outcomes for residents by fostering strong communities, promoting tenancy sustainment, and reducing the impact of homelessness across the borough. The Hostels Service plays a critical role in supporting vulnerable households, addressing complex housing needs, and ensuring that temporary accommodation provides not only a place to stay but a foundation from which residents can rebuild their lives and work towards long-term housing stability.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and professional team that is passionate about delivering high-quality services and making a meaningful difference to the lives of Ealing residents. Working within the Hostels Service offers a unique chance to contribute to one of the Council’s most important frontline services, helping to ensure that residents living in temporary accommodation receive the support, accommodation standards, and housing management services they deserve. Through innovation, partnership working, and a commitment to excellence, we aim to provide accommodation that is safe, welcoming, and supportive, whilst helping residents progress towards independent and sustainable housing solutions.
