For external candidates, the starting salary on appointment is expected to be £86,000 per annum. Existing Civil Servants will be appointed on level transfer or promotion in line with Civil Service pay arrangements. On promotion, salary will increase either to the minimum of the SCS Pay Band 1 range or by up to 10% of current basic salary, excluding allowances, whichever is greater. Candidates appointed on level transfer will retain their existing basic salary, excluding allowances.
