Do you want to make services better for children and young people across Merton? Join our Young Inspector team!
We are recruiting three Young Inspectors to join us: one to work in our Public Health team on health and wellbeing priorities, and two working on our SEND reforms. You'll use your own experiences, and those of other children and young people, to help the Council understand what is working well and what needs to change.
The Young Inspector (Public Health) role is for six hours per week, and the Young Inspector (SEND) role is for five hours per week. Both roles will involve you working with existing Young Inspectors, members of the Participation team and with children and young people where needed.
These roles may involve evening and weekend work. An enhanced DBS will be required due to work with young people. For the Young Inspector (SEND) roles you do not have to have SEND yourself. We are looking for young people who have some lived experience of SEND - for example, through your own experiences, supporting a family member or friend, or using SEND-specific services.
These roles are only open to people aged 16-24 years old, who currently live, study or socialise in Merton or have done so in the past. The London Borough of Merton have placed restrictions on the age of persons who can apply for this role as permitted under schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
