Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Specialist Doctor in Anaesthetics The closing date is 25 October 2026 Apply for this job Job summary Specialist Doctor Anaesthetics East Surrey & Crawley Hospitals Full time 10 PAs Following significant investment to expand our workforce and meet growing service demands, we are excited to offer a number of newly created roles across our teams and are looking to appoint permanent Specialist Doctors in Anaesthetics. The post comprises of a weekly average of 9 PA's of clinical work, 1 SPA's spread across elective and emergency anaesthetics. The successful candidate will join a department that is friendly, engaged and provides excellent training and mentor support. The team comprises of 43 Consultants, 9 SAS Grades, up to 24 Trainees and administrative staff. The successful appointee will work as an integral part of the team and have equal access to junior staff. East Surrey is the principle hospital for emergencies and inpatients, with day case surgery at Crawley Hospital. Anaesthetists are expected to be available across both hospital sites dependant on operational requirements. Main duties of the job Main duties of the job To provide safe, high quality anaesthesia for elective and emergency patients. To teach and mentor trainees. To contribute to quality improvement; risk management initiatives and policy development so that the overall Anaesthesia Service is of the highest quality and reflective of best practice. To participate in work related projects. To adhere to Hospital Policies and Procedures. To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices in a safe working environment. To undertake any other duties that may be required, which could include assisting medical colleagues throughout the hospital and acting.
