Working across primary care and urgent care pathways, the ANP will undertake advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, and care planning, ensuring timely access to healthcare services and improved patient outcomes.The post holder will play a pivotal role in delivering same-day urgent and unscheduled care, managing patients with acute and long-term health conditions, and reducing pressure on GP services through expert clinical decision-making and independent practice. The ANP will contribute to the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of healthcare services, supporting continuity of care within the custodial environment. As a senior clinical leader, the ANP will actively promote clinical excellence, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives while supporting robust clinical governance frameworks. The role will provide professional leadership, mentorship, and supervision to nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues, helping to develop workforce capability and maintain high standards of care. Main duties of the job The ANP will play a key role in: Providing advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex health needs. Supporting same-day urgent and unscheduled care provision. Reducing pressure on GP services and improving access to healthcare. Enhancing clinical governance, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives. Supporting the development and supervision of nursing staff. Providing visible clinical leadership across the healthcare service.
