About the role
Lead Positive Outcomes for Children and Young People with SEND
Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the experience and leadership skills to support complex casework, guide colleagues, and help shape high-quality SEND services?
Hillingdon Council is looking for a
Senior EHC Co-ordinator
to join our SEND Service. This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role within a busy and ambitious team, supporting children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND while contributing to service development and continuous improvement.
As a Senior EHC Co-ordinator, you will manage a complex caseload of children and young people undergoing Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments or with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), whilst supporting EHC Co-ordinators within the team. You will act as a key point of contact for families and professionals, coordinate statutory processes and annual reviews, represent the Local Authority at panels where required, and support effective transitions throughout a child or young person's educational journey.
In addition, you will play a key leadership role within the SEND Team, providing casework supervision to EHC Co-ordinators, line management support to SEND Review Officers, and deputising for the SEND Team Manager when required.
About You
Hillingdon Council is committed to delivering excellent services for children and young people with SEND and their families. As we continue to develop and improve our SEND provision, we are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable professional who can lead by example, manage complex cases, and support colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
You will be organised, solution-focused and resilient, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and a commitment to person-centred practice. You will be confident working with families, schools, health partners and social care professionals, and able to make sound decisions within a statutory framework.
You Will

Coordinate services and professionals around children, young people and families.
Represent the Local Authority at SRP and Special School Intake Panels.
Coordinate phase transfer arrangements and ensure smooth transitions between educational settings and into adulthood.
Support mediation, conciliation and SEND Tribunal processes, including preparing Local Authority responses and coordinating witnesses.
Make recommendations regarding resources and personal budgets through appropriate decision-making processes.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance
