The successful candidate will provide consultant-level care in neuro-oncology and functional neurosurgery, including complex brain tumour surgery, MDT participation, outpatient clinics and elective operating. The post holder will also support the wider neurosurgical service, including general cranial neurosurgery and consultant on-call duties, in line with the agreed job plan. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide consultant-led neurosurgical care within a regional neurosciences service, delivering high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care across elective, urgent and emergency pathways. Undertake specialist neuro-oncology outpatient clinics, inpatient care, elective operating lists and multidisciplinary team participation. We operate from two main sites - KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 346,000 people visiting them last year. We're campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen's and get rid of corridor care. We're proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.
