See the surveys available right now Hide Parks and Environment Supervisor Apply online About this job To support the Parks, Commercial & Cemeteries Manager or Housing and Highways Grounds Maintenance Manager in the deployment and return of resources across the range of services including Cemeteries, Parks, Grounds Maintenance, and Schools. All candidates will need to show a record of accomplishment of delivering high quality services and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and high levels of customer service. The role involves a knowledge of the application of IT based maintenance, monitoring systems as well as working outdoors. You will be expected to work with a degree of flexibility to ensure that the service is maintained during operational difficulties or special events. Supervising and the deployment of staff to ensure schedules are met. To resolve complex customer enquiries and complaints, reporting to the Line Manager as needed, perform various grounds maintenance tasks and when trained you may be required to perform all aspects of Cemetery operations. Special requirements for this post All applicants will be required to a category B + E licence. Routine playground inspection – Basic Level or willingness to obtain. Knowledge of the application of IT based maintenance and monitoring systems. Previous experience of no less than 4 years working in a ground's maintenance service. Experience of various plant / machinery used for environmental services and a good understanding of Horticulture & Cemetery interments. About you We are looking for a supervisor to work in the Parks, Green Spaces and Highways service. You will be responsible for Supervisory duties for resources and staff within your team, as well as leading and deploying staff to ensure schedules are met. You will have knowledge of various plants and machinery used in environmental services, as well as a solid understanding of horticulture.   The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, the ability to communicate at all levels, and the ability to value people with diverse skills and perspectives About us Barking & Dagenham is changing.
