Culture, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Reading and interpreting routine culture plates. Routine bacteriology and associated microbiological investigations. Working within ISO 15189/UKAS (or equivalent) accredited laboratory standards. Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and turnaround times in a busy diagnostic laboratory. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-performing microbiology department processing a large volume of routine diagnostic samples. Shifts available: Nights full time Evening and Nights shifts Full 247 rota Inc Nights Experience Required Successful applicants will have practical experience in: Processing high volumes of routine microbiology specimens. Culture, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Reading and interpreting routine culture plates. Routine bacteriology and associated microbiological investigations. Working within ISO 15189/UKAS (or equivalent) accredited laboratory standards. Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and turnaround times in a busy diagnostic laboratory. Essential Requirements HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist Specialist Portfolio must be completed BSc (Hons) Degree in Biomedical Science or an equivalent recognised qualification. A minimum of 4 years' post-registration/postgraduate experience working exclusively within a routine Microbiology laboratory. Previous experience in a high-volume hospital laboratory, such as an NHS, government, university teaching, or tertiary referral hospital or large Private laboratories based in the UK Confident working independently across all areas of routine microbiology.
