About Us
Newham is a vibrant, ambitious and rapidly growing east London borough. We are one of England’s youngest and most diverse boroughs with 72% of our residents from ethnically diverse communities, speaking over 220 languages.
Newham Council is working to ensure there is greater investment in public spaces and more opportunities for young people. This includes leading a landmark project to transform the historic Canning Town Old Library into Newham Heritage Centre, the borough’s newest cultural hub.
When construction work is completed, the building will contain an inspiring new exhibition space, reading room and bespoke archive storage, digital suite, learning space, venue hire space and a cafe.
