Job Description
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Best Start Inclusion Practitioner (BSIP) to join our Early Help and Children’s Services team. In this rewarding role, you will work with children and families through Family Hubs, early years settings, and partner agencies to promote inclusive practice. This work will ensure that young children with additional needs receive the support they need to achieve the best possible start in life and will include delivering group and individual parenting intervention programmes. You will provide advice, guidance, signposting and practical support to families with children in the early years, helping to identify needs early, remove barriers to learning and development, and improve outcomes for children and families.
About Enfield Council
At Enfield Council, we are committed to creating a borough where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We are proud of our diverse communities and are dedicated to delivering high-quality services that make a real difference to the lives of residents. Our workforce is passionate, innovative, and focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and families. By joining us, you will become part of a supportive organisation that values collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young children and families, particularly within early years, education, health, or community settings. You will have a sound understanding of child development, inclusion, safeguarding, and the challenges faced by children with emerging or identified additional needs.
You will be able to demonstrate:
Experience of supporting children with additional or special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Knowledge of current early years frameworks, legislation, and best practice.
Strong partnership working skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with associated teams, families, early years providers, and multi-agency professionals.
Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.
The ability to work independently, prioritise workload effectively, and manage a varied caseload.
A commitment to equality, inclusion, and improving outcomes for children and families.
Our offer to the candidate to include anything in addition to the benefits package detailed in the section below.
