Jewish Care Sous Chef - 35 hours The closing date is 13 November 2026 Apply for this job Job summary The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious and appetising meals for residents, service users, families and visitors at Jewish Care. Working as part of an established catering team, the postholder will oversee food preparation and presentation, maintain excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards, manage resources within agreed budgets, and help motivate and develop colleagues. The role also involves ensuring menus reflect individual dietary needs, cultural preferences and Jewish kosher requirements, while contributing to catering for events and maintaining an excellent customer experience. By combining culinary expertise with strong leadership and a compassionate approach, the Sous Chef will help create a welcoming dining environment where food contributes to residents wellbeing, dignity and quality of life. You will help deliver delicious, nutritious meals, inspire colleagues, maintain high standards and contribute to memorable dining experiences for residents and service users. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and organised professional with experience in a busy kitchen, supervisory skills and a commitment to food safety, quality and value for money. An understanding of dietary needs and cultural requirements is important, and training in kosher kitchen practices is available.
